Long time, no post.....LOTS of news. (great news)

So, where were we?
Since we last posted, we were looking to switch to the Ecuador program.
We have since gone from Ecuador back to Ethiopia, but then right as we needed to commit, we found out about an even newer program.
The China Waiting Children program which is mostly made up of children with minor-correctable medical issues expedites a very long China process into much less than a year. We had been sad about the growing length of wait times, as our boys (and ourselves) get older and older. This new program seems to be the match for our family.
Well, our home study was completed last week. After reviewing, and passing on a child from China from the regular WIC list, we were presented a file from the new China WIC program. After a quick review from the U of MN International Adoption Clinic (turnaround time is only 24 hours!) and a local orthopedic surgeon,we have a MATCH!
She is a precious 3 1/2 year old girl from China. She has a correctable issue with her hip. Both docs are comfortable that she will have two healthy hips after treatment (surgical or non-surgical).
We have 3 pictures, and a good history. Healthy, beautiful girl. So excited.

We are now waiting for our I800 immigration paperwork to clear (2-3 months) and then that and the dossier for China goes across the Pacific to get processed there. Until our I800 is done, we can gather the things needed for the dossier. We are hoping to travel in the fall, but November/December is also possible.

Girl names, travel plans, pediatric orthopedic surgeons and Mandarin Chinese are all we can think about.

WOOHOO!
